With these words horizons shift
Until the road does rise.
With these words will futures drift
And lead me to the skies.

Begone, begat, but can’t forget,
Nor simply walk away.
From favored faces, voices met,
That carved into my clay.

I hope the pain does not surpass
Discoveries we shared.
You bridged across this deep crevasse
And how you truly cared.

No choices made do regrets make
Nor memories deny,
And still the fullness of this ache
My heart does occupy.

I considered how to do this. I pondered whether to silently slip into the snow covered woods. That however, would be to diminish the import and impact of what this place and those who appreciated me and/or my poems has meant to my soul. Thus, I felt I needed to write in verse. I am not shutting the site off, at least for now, and I won’t be present here in WP. There is somewhere else I must go. It may not be forever, but it will be for now. When you hear the keen or howl across the night sky, please remember the good. Take it and hold it inside you, until it becomes part of you. Then share it with others.

You showed me my voice. I am and always will be forever changed by you!

  1. My boy, this hurts my heart. Our tribe has now lost two of my nearest, dearest. But I understand, you have your path to forge, your dreams to manifest, and your heart to fill.
But please know, if nothing else, your words have fed my soul; your kindness, restored my faith; and your heart, reminded me that love and friendship always exist, even in the most unlikely of places.
If nothing else, BW, promise me this: you will keep writing. The world would lose an extraordinary tribute to what it is to be human- to feel the full spectrum of emotions through the rich, passionate, unfeigned way you orchestrate your words, expose your heart, and unveil your soul.
I’ll be here, waiting for your return, no matter how brief…I’ll be here.

  2. Your words, your spirit and your love have reached through the sky and changed the lives of so many; I am grateful to be among them. More than anything, I wish you all the goodness on the next phase of your journey; I wish you love and light and strength. I hope that you will continue to turn to poetry, as an outlet, a guide, a driving force. You have an immense talent and unyielding heart. With love and gratitude….I won’t say good bye….but simply, thank you!

  3. You gotta do what you gotta do. Sometimes you can’t be in several places at the same time. You have to go where your heart’s leading you, which is always the best choice.

Fuck,I hate goodbyes. I’ll miss your poetry, and the shared laughter, but above all I’ll miss YOU, one and only George.
    Take care, ok?

If you live among wolves you become one yourself, so when you hear the howls, you’ll know.

  7. What?! I don’t know what’s happening around here–I am literally in tears right now. I wish you nothing but the best, and I will miss your beautiful words and your support of my silly ones. From Rush:
    Off on your way
    Hit the open road
There is magic at your fingers
    For the spirit ever lingers
