Spiralling

A world unknown and outmoded.
A family unfamiliar
Facing fallout from reason,
Inverted and perverted,
Where choices have no voices.

Lonely the walk
Around bodies of chalk
That preceded and predated this.
Temporal. Temporary.
Tempting fate with glass of champagne.

Once more to lift a glass
While we shuffle past our pardons.
Watching futility rule
While anger admonishes rage,
And we plummet in a perfect pirouette.
