Forever Afternoon

My beautiful and brilliant friend Susan Richardson has re-emerged and shared some of her self-reflective insights. Within the comments of her latest post she asked if her post was “too heady for a Tuesday afternoon”.  As happens within the brain of this here Wulf, my mind was pulled to the musical recesses where so much of my mental processes percolate.

No, Susan. Definitely not too heady. In fact, Tuesday afternoons are perfect for this. If you don’t believe me, just listen to Justin Hayward and The Moody Blues. And welcome back.

“The Afternoon: Forever Afternoon”

Tuesday, afternoon,
I’m just beginning to see,
Now I’m on my way,
It doesn’t matter to me,
Chasing the clouds away.

Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near,
I’ve got to find out why
Those gentle voices I hear
Explain it all with a sigh.

I’m looking at myself, reflections of my mind,
It’s just the kind of day to leave myself behind,
So gently swaying thru the fairy-land of love,
If you’ll just come with me and see the beauty of

Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday, afternoon,
I’m just beginning to see,
Now I’m on my way,
It doesn’t matter to me,
Chasing the clouds away.

Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near,
I’ve got to find out why
Those gentle voices I hear
Explain it all with a sigh.

  1. You hit upon a wonderful song full of memories.

Tuesday’s get a bad wrap. I once I had a job where we had a flex schedule. I chose to have Tuesday off. I always thought it was the most underrated day of the week.

    Thank you for this. Excellent!!!

    1. I have to disagree here. Everyone who knows me knows that Tuesday is my kryptonite, the 1 day every week I have to pay the universe back for all the peace, harmony, and optimism it has delivered unto me. For some reason, Tuesday arrives in attack mode, no matter how cheery I begin.

You can have as many of them as you want. In fact, I’ll take back double in Mondays in exchange. Fair enough? 😉
