Hidden Gem For the Hidden Hearts

I have always loved this song. It is one of my all-time favorite Paul Simon songs.

While the realities might not be for now…the heart still wishes to turn and look that direction. For you (you know who you are) and any unknown who are drawn far away to where the heart truly lies, this song will hold more power than anyone can ever express.

It isn’t the miles that makes one distant…it is the absence of love.

“Kathy’s Song”

I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my roof and wallsAnd from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets
To England, where my heart lies

My mind’s distracted and diffused
My thoughts are many miles away
They lie with you when you’re asleep
And kiss you when you start your day

And a song I was writing is left undone
I don’t know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can’t believe
With words that tear and strain to rhyme

And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you

And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I

          1. Since I’m in a poetic mood myself, let me reply the only way I can. Here’s to bridging the distances (I figure, lovers worldwide can’t be wrong):

            I can’t swim a stroke
But don’t throw me no rope
            I’m on my way down
And for me there’s no hope
            I don’t wanna be saved
            Send the lifeguard away
            Tell him to take off
For the rest of the day

I took a dip in your pool of love….
            (Wow, wow, wow, wow, ooh)
