Sun Chaser

Morning glow. A reunion so welcome.
The eastern rise that greets these eyes,
Leading longingly I watch its arc begin.
Ever so slow its skyward climb that
Brightens and blankets this world
With rays ablaze bringing peace to others.
It is hope’s chariot in the sky I watch
That plods and trods with unhurried gait
To where my beating voice beckons.
Anxiously eyeing and watching the angles
I spy the start of the end. A new beginning.
That glorious burst of deepening hues,
Kaleidoscope of cantaloupe and darker azure blues
Pulls me fast to hurry past its westward dive.
And when two worlds, two times do twine,
Like fingers linked or twisting vine
Two hearts do sound but only with
One beat. For us. For yours. For mine.

  1. There’s language here that hearkens to Herrick… Channeling your inner Renaissance man?!
