Winter Thaw

How long have these winter winds whipped around you?
How bitter the cold that clawed at your heart and soul.
Encased in ice I found you as I trekked a perilous path
Through mountain ranges both failed and fake.
With blazing touch and heat born of the Sun in spring
I will radiate upon you until your frost-born cage is melted,
And you stand before me delicious and deliriously free.

    1. You don’t often use that word, so this one must have been one you really liked. Thank you!

Odd…it doesn’t show in my reader as published. Guess I will see if it ultimately appears.

I tried those words a couple different ways, but the voice kept screaming for it to be the way I finally wrote it.

          1. I was sitting here struggling to name the original band – then I saw my teenage fantasy, Jimmy Page, in my mind’s eye and all was restored. The Yardbirds 👏🏻👏🏻

            I will.

    1. Oh my. Wanting to climb inside this mind to see the triggers and inspirations? That isn’t always a comfortable climb.

I think so many of my works cover topics and ranges of emotion that there is a connectibility to them for some.
