Blindsided

In darkness I drove through my highway lonely.
The twists. The turns. The snaking path owned me.
I rounded the bend prepared for the black bleakness
I had come to know. To call. To name as my co-pilot.
Unprepared I was. Un-warranted it took hold of me.
In its blazing flight, it blossoming so bright,
I was blinded. Blindsided by the power of your light.
