Time Loop

For in this time alas did I find
You stilled the hands and made it stop.
A moment not stolen but surrendered.
Remembered. Freed from gears and wheels
So all was forgotten but that point.
That place. That brief, bright eternity
When the linear lapsed and was defeated.

  1. This really speaks to me–the whole idea of time as a human, linear construct being defeated. Just spent the weekend with my husband’s dad, who has Alzheimer’s. Time has no meaning to him anymore–yesterday is today, 50 years ago is now. I wonder if he feels free. I hope so.
