Wild Words

Whitewater words crest and break unbidden
While the dams of life try to corral
And pen them in like wild mustangs.
Free they want to run and thunder across
The plains of poetic lovers who desire
Exhilaration. Stimulation. Conversation.
The unshod hooves of expression pound and tear
As inspiration drives each word and phrase.
Mottled and dappled descriptions paint images
In hopes of breathing life into our words.
Fight the bit, the bridle, the saddle of convention
To let your spirit run free with the wind once more.

Thank you @awriterssoulblog for this piece on poetry and inspiring me.
