Breaking Our Fast

My eyes with gentle glance affix
Gaze downward upon life’s latest, greatest mystery.
Soft sighs and heaving breaths play upon you, and the echo of
A glance flutters with life to herald the light from your eyes.

Radiant with fire is the gift of your wakening, wicked smile;
And hands appear and curl to beckon me downward.
Pillow pressed creases frame your lips and blushing cheeks
And with gentle part do corners bend with the briefest of licks.

Scent of dark liquid drifting through the warm, thickening air,
The dripping sounds are replaced by my growing guttural growl.
Glancing to the doorway, I hungrily turn back to face your languid form
And say with longing, grateful submission…Breakfast can wait.
